At Ratt & Raider LLC, we’ve always believed performance shouldn’t come with a high price tag. Our work in research and development has one goal, proving that smart engineering, creative design, and sustainable thinking can produce incredible results without breaking the bank. Our next project is something a little unexpected: a racing mower that’s built to perform like nothing else in its class.

This mower, named the metal tail, will serve as our debut showcase, combining affordability, ingenuity, and performance into one wild machine. When it’s finished, we plan to give it away at our first community racing event, where participants can race for a chance to take it home. It’s more than just a giveaway; it’s a demonstration of what can happen when passion and resourcefulness meet.

We’re still deep in the build process, with sponsors and event details taking shape over the coming months.

So, what makes this mower special? We’re shooting for 2:1 power to weight at nearly 85 horsepower. It’ll feature a hybrid drivetrain, active aerodynamics, and a resin-cored engine block for improved cooling and integrity. All engineered in-house to push what’s possible within a modest budget. Building it as a mower wasn’t just for fun (though it definitely is); it’s a statement about reusing, recycling, and reimagining what’s already out there.

By rethinking design and using recycled or repurposed components, we want to encourage others to build, create, and explore performance without needing deep pockets. Engineering should be accessible. Innovation should be shared. And performance should always be fun.
