24 Hours of LEMONS

A simple nod to the historical 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 24 Hours of Lemons presents an exciting and unconventional opportunity for low-budget race teams to engage in a thrilling endurance race with a strict maximum budget of just $500. This unique racing event is designed not only to challenge the skills of the participants but also to celebrate creativity and ingenuity in automotive engineering and design. Teams participating in this race often embrace a variety of whimsical and eccentric themes, encouraging drivers and crew members to showcase their personalities through their vehicle builds. This event not only highlights the resourcefulness of the teams but also brings a refreshing new light to the sport, proving that racing can be both entertaining and inclusive.

At Ratt & Raider, one of our core beliefs is that the current landscape of automotive technology has evolved to a point where it has become excessively everything; too expensive, too engineered, and too complicated for the average enthusiast and everyday driver. This is where events like the 24 Hours of Lemons come into play. Specifically, a small notice prominently displayed on their homepage captures the attention of visitors and participants alike; it announces that the first team to successfully win the competition with an all-electric vehicle will be awarded a substantial prize of $50,000, which is humorously specified as being delivered in a million nickels.

The challenge posed by this competition is significant, yet we firmly believe that with the right mindset, a great deal of determination, and a little (a lot) of ingenuity, this ambitious feat is an achievable reality.

An ambitious way for us to raise money, certainly, but the additional publicity along with the prize, would propel us to our next chapter and many chapters beyond.
